Tabletop RPGs
I've started playing TTRPGs back in 2015 I think. It was a long time ago. I remember it begin with me just casually walking up to my sister saying: "hey, I've got this cool game to play." We grabbed some dice and notepads, and I run a crude improv session.
Since then many thing have changed. Not only the length of my hair, but also how many games I've played:
- Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2e - that was my first official rule system. I look back at it fondly, but tbh it's very much nostalgia-tinted glasses. It's quite crude to my liking today.
- D&D 3.5e - this one needs no introduction. We've played it for a long time. I have some very nice memories from this game, but I probably wouldn't play it anymore. My taste has chnaged to way less crunch.
- D&D 4e - we've played it a little bit. I didn't have a very tactical group back in the day, so we just tried it out, and went back to what we were used to.
- Freeform Universal - a little known system from around the time I started hanging out with other game developers. It was very cool. A surprising breth of fresh air after playing crunchy games for such a long time.
- The Witcher from 2015 - played it a bunch. I really like the books, so it was natural for me to try it out.
- FATE
- Monster of the Week
- City of the Mist
As you can see, the list isn't actually that big. That's primarily because I have a life, and secondly because thoughtout the years I've constantly been making my own homebrew games and systems.
Note: (Here when I refer to a "game" I mean not only a set of rules, but also a preferred setting, can be more or less specific - think D&D or Warhammer. A "system" here will refer to only a set of rules, like Freform Universal or FATE - you could say a game engine to use a video game analogy. I don't know how proper this distinction is, but I don't care. This is my webpage dangit!)
